Capital Asset Finance Corporation
(CAFCo) is a Colorado nonprofit corporation formed in 1995 and a
"501(c)(3) organization" designated as such under the Internal Revenue
Code.
CAFCo is a charitable organization
created for charitable, scientific, literary and educational purposes
within the meaning of and pursuant to Internal Revenue Code Section
501(c)(3), including (without limitation) lessening the burdens of
government and engaged principally in the business of funding and
operating public and semi-public governmental buildings and works and
housing.
Because of its charitable nature
and 501(c)(3) status, CAFCo is able to (i) fund certain facilities on a
tax-exempt basis and others on a taxable basis and (ii) provide the
facilities to a governmental unit or charitable organization, exempt
from real property and sales and use taxes, saving the governmental unit
or charitable organization substantial amounts of money.
